Reverse polarity SMA Connectors

SMA connectors reverse polarity (RP) is a keying system that reverses the gender (interface) of the connector(s). This can cause confusion since the term plug becomes un-associated with male and the term jack becomes un-associated with female.

A RP-SMA plug utilises the same external housing as a standard SMA plug. The internal pin is replaced by a receptacle. Therefore the reserve polarity SMA male has a pin which is housed in the socket (plug) and the female connector (jack) keeps the female socket but is housed in a plug casing.

SMA RP can not mate with standard SMA connectors.
